UPDATE

NEWS JUST IN : i HAVE ALL OF THE WALLPAPER OFF THE WALLS, NOW I JUST HAVE TO SCARP OFF THE BACKING. I GOT TWO WALLS COMPLETELY DONE LAST NIGHT AND WILL FINISH THE OTHER TWO TONIGHT. MAYBE BY SUNDAY WE WILL BE PUTTING PRIMER ON THE WALLS.

OH YEAH MY HUSBAND ALSO TOLD ME I WAS ON CRACK BECAUSE HE THOUGHT I WAS PAINTING EACH WALL A DIFFERENT COLOR, NOT FOUR SQUARES ON ONE WALL. MY MOM ALSO THINKS I'M CRAZY BECAUSE SHE THINKS I SHOULD DIVIDE THE WALL IN TO SECTIONS AND REPEAT THE PATTERN SEVERAL TIMES ON ONE WALL. i PERSONALLY THINK THEY ARE CRAZY AND HAVE NO ADVENTURE. JOKING WITH MY HUBBY I TOLD HIM THAT HE NEEDED A LITTLE ADVENTURE IN HIS LIFE. MOVE OUT OF HIS BOX AND EXPLORE NEW THINGS. OF COURSE HE TURNED IT AROUND ON ME SAYING I WAS THE BORING ONE. HA HA

I WON'T BE ABLE TO START UNTIL LATE TONIGHT BECAUSE I HAVE TO GO TO A BENEFIT DINNER FOR A FRIEND THAT JUST FOUND OUT THAT SHE HAS CANCER. SHE IS ONLY 27 AND SHE WAS PREGNANT WHEN SHE FOUND THE LUMP. IT IS VERY RADICAL CANCER SO THEY TOOK THE BABY EARLY SO SHE COULD START TREATMENT ASAP. KEEP HER AND HER FAMILY IN YOUR PRAYERS DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME.

Time for change

I'm not sure if it is because of Fall and the trees making their yearly color change, but I'm ready for a change. I took my MIL shopping about a month ago and fell in love with a set of dishes at Linens-n-Things. So Tuesday I decided I needed those dishes, to note my current dishes are only 7 years old and in great condition. That might have something to do with me hating to cook and the fact that this household goes through a lot of paper plates. Again because I hate to do dishes, OK fine I hate any type of cleaning.

So, off I go on Tuesday morning for an hour drive to the closest LNT. I get there and they don't have any. I was so bummed. I did find a set of serving dishes that matched, so I decided to ask if they would be getting anymore in. To my dismay they were being discontinued and they checked the computers and it showed that only 1 store had 2 left. Of course this store is 2 hours from my house, but they called to check on how many they had because the computers are not always right. I was so excited when I found out that they not only had 2 sets but 4. With a little credit card info they will be shipped to my house by the end of the week. Not only were they on sale for $40 instead of $80, the nice college kid who must have thought I was HOT, told they other store that I had 3 coupons for 20% and to please ring them up separately. Gosh I Love a sale.

After my great deal we headed off to Lowe's for paint. Here is where my change comes in. I decided that I'm going to paint my Kitchen to match the design on the plates. So 4 gallons and $120 in paint later I'm ready to tackle my kitchen. As you can see from the pics that it is not my style at all. I'm not really into the flowers, to girly. I need something to make me feel young again. What better thing than to paint your kitchen red, yellow and 2 different shades of orange in a block pattern. Remember I'm matching the design on the plate. Wish me luck!! I will need it.

These are the before pics and a picture of the plate that I got my idea from.

Till next time~Peace

Mistaken identity

When I met my husband he was a kind and compassionate person, or so I thought. He came home from work the other night and says he has to show me a picture that a friend sent to him. So he opens the picture below. My reaction is "ouch! That looks like it hurt." What is the thing all smashed in the median you ask, why it is a small travel trailer.

In case you didn't know my husband is a fireman, so he is always looking at accidents on the internet to get ideas for training and what not. So just in general conversation I ask where this is at, meaning what state. Here is where I discover what a Ass my husband really is. He informs me that he was heading back to his office and came across this accident that just happened, No police or anyone was there yet. Me being the unselfish person that I am asked if he stopped to help, and he informs me "NO", but his co-worker took this picture as we were driving by. This made me really upset because he wouldn't stop to help. Hello!~ You are trained in this. What is someone was really hurt. So needless to say I did not marry the kind man I once thought he was. I sure hope we all stay safe because I'm not even sure he would help me if I needed it. I have heard the words many times come out of his mouth, "My pager hasn't gone off". I would like to take that pager and shove it where the sun don't shine. So we'll see how he does today in the manner of helping. He took the day off from work to finally carpet the stairs in our house. Mind you we have had the carpet for 2 years now and it is just now getting put in. Till next time~out.

First day woes

Sorry I'm off on a tangent today.

I think my daughter had the worst day ever for the first day of school. She sits in the front of the bus and they were almost done with the route, when a motorcycle didn't see them turning and crashed into the front/side of the bus. The police, fire dept. and ambulance all came. They had to take the driver of the motorcycle by flight care and is in serious condition. The kids were scared and didn't know what to do. 15 minutes later they had another bus come and take the kids to school. So on the first day of Kindergarten my little girl was crying, scared and late.
The thing that make me most upset is that we were never contacted by the school. I heard about it because my SIL was going to take Kay's and my nephews picture together, but Kay was not at school yet. She finally saw her come in and went to talk to her and she said she was late because of an accident. That's all that was said. We didn't know if there was an accident so the bus couldn't get through or if the bus was in an accident.
I had to take my mom to a doctor appt. in Troy, so I was out of town all day. My SIL heard more of the story and called me on my cell phone. Then I was more worried if Kay was on that bus. Of course I don't know what route the bus takes, so I didn't even know if she was on that bus. So later in the day I called daycare to ask how she was doing and they said she was fine. But last night she had a nightmare and didn't really want to ride the bus this morning, because there might be another accident. I kept telling her that everything would be fine.
So were outside waiting for the bus this morning and it shows up 20 minutes later with a sub driver. Ok, so if the bus driver was so shook up that she couldn't drive today, why wouldn't the school contact the parents and let them know what happened. I would have been happy with a letter or a phone call at least telling me what happened so I could discuss it with my child. I think I'm going to call the school today and let them know that I'm not pleased.

Hopefully that will be the only exciting thing that happens this school year and I pray for the man on the motorcycle and his family.

First day of school

Kay's first day of Kindergarten!! She was so excited that I just woke her up by whispering in her ear. She jumped right out of bed and was ready to go.

What a wonderful day:)

Well of the very few people who read my blog, they have been complaining that I haven't been posting.

Today, I get my life back. School has begun and I now have a few minutes to myself every morning.

Ok, let's reverse a few days to see where I have been.
Monday, August 28 th - Worked 9-5 at one job then had to work from 6-10 at second job.
Tuesday, August 29th - Day off from work-went grocery shopping and cleaned house.
Wednesday, August 30th - Worked 9-5, then second job 5:15 - 10:30, then stopped and picked up a couple of things at the store.
Thursday, August 31st - Worked 9-5, went home to pack and head up north early.
Friday - Monday - Up north at the cabin.

See people that is why I have not had time to blog, let alone time to think of anything important to say. So now that I have to get up at 6am to get my child off to school I might be able to check in a little more often.

UP NORTH - I love being there, it is so relaxing. We headed up Thursday night since my hubby had to work in Gaylord of Friday. So most of the day Friday it was just me and the girls reading books for 2 hours or more. Then Kay completed a learning workbook that consisted of 50 pages. She is way ready for Kindergarten. Hubby was back for work around 1:30 and all three of them layed down and took a 4 hour nap. I'm not sure why I did not join in the nap fest, but I enjoyed the peace and quiet. I was beginning to go insane around 6pm, so I got everybody up and went to the outlet mall and then to Applebee's for dinner. When we got back to the cabin all of my peace and quiet was gone because the rest of the family had gotten there.
I forgot to take my camera, but wish I had pictures of the fun on the lake on Sunday. Kay at the beginning of the summer was so afraid of riding in the tube behind the boat. Now the faster the better.

Well that is enough of a boring post for one day. Below are a few pictures of Kay's first day of school. Sorry the one is a little dark, it's still dark in Michigan at 6:40 in the morning.
