What the Hell!!!

Ok this is going to be short and I hope to the point, but I need some major advice. When we were up north over memorial weekend I caught my child and my nephew hiding behind the boat with their shirts off. I go ballistic asking them what they think they're doing. My nephew quickly says that he took off his shirt because he was hot, and Sunshine (my daughter) quickly followed suit. I did not believe them, but I dropped it and just told her that girls can't take off their shirts.

Not to bad so far.....

Then Monday (6/5) I get a phone call from daycare around 11:00 am. Daycare informs me that Sunshine and 3 other boys were pulling down their pants and licking/kissing each others private areas. I freak out, Where in the Hell did she learn such a thing? We're so private that we are always fully clothed and she would not see it on tv because we don't let her watch bad tv. So on my lunch break I go talk to Sunshine and tell her that we will discuss it when we get home, but she was only to play with girls the rest of the day. I pick her up and find out that this is what they were doing up north and it was my nephews idea. I also got out of her where they were kissing each other and she pointed to her hip/butt area and they did not pull their pants all the way down...more like they were mooning each other.

Daycare told me that I should not really punish her becuase they are just kids that are curious about their bodies. It is normal for a child to discover it feels good when they play with themselves and can have an orgasim by age 3. So am I being a complete idiot by worrying about where she is learning this or just stress to her that some things are private and not to be shown ever. Any advise would be great, because I was not expecting to deal with this until she was at least 6. Ha Ha.

ok, first off it is normal..dont worry..although none of mine went thru that, I know plenty who have.

just make sure she knows that if anyone asks her to take her clothes off..(other than you and your hubby for bath, and dressing and whatever) that she is NOT to do it..make sure she knows that anyone wanting to see her with her clothes off is not being nice.

But I hear about kids doing this sort of thing, if my daughter even so much as walks around without her shirt on my son freaks out and tells me that "that girl needs to have her clothes on, thats just disgusting"

dont worry, she is a normal kid..but I would make sure she knows that if anyone asks her to take her clothes off that she should tell the closest adult. whether its and adult or a child asking her to take her clothes off..

ok i think this is long enough:)

Holy shit! Don't tell me things like that. See what happens when you pull her out of MY daycare LOL! I've heard of kids curiously taking their clothes off (though my child hasn't been that curious yet...thank the Lord), but the kissing/licking part would concern me too!!!

I would just have a quiet heart to heart chat with her (you and hubby together...poor Howard, he's grey enough). Be sure to explain that if anyone touches inappropriately she can ALWAYS tell you and would not be in trouble for tatteling.

I'm sure she saw how freaked out you were and would be scared to try it again.

Oh ladies we have certainly had that talk. We told her that privates are called that because they are private and no one else is every to touch or see them. The only problem with this is I have read that if you tell them that then it warps their mind about sex forever. Well maybe she is young enough that by the time she is 40 she won't be worried about being locked in the attic for ever..I pretty much did all of that and so far so good. She has only been playing with girls at daycare.

Did you know that a child can give themselves an orgasm at 3 years old? Why didn't I learn that..Ha HA

12:33 AM

well I am glad you talked to her..

but i was going to say too, that you should talk to your nephews parents and tell them that he was having her take her clothes and and tell them about the licking and what not..maybe that kid needs a good talkin too..

i remeber my parents telling me all this when I was a wee one..it didnt harm me none..haha..and its best we do tell them, its for thier own saftely..

and i am all for having orgasms at any age..too bad we didnt know though..we are always the last to know..

Oh believe me we have talked about it. She thinks there is nothing wrong with it and is always walking around naked at their house. She thinks that is OK. And then she wonders why I don't ask her to watch my kids.

Thanks for the input. She seems to be better so far after all of our talks. I just wanted to make sure that she did not think she was going to get in trouble for telling. We talked about it and reminded her for 3 days and now I'm just watching her closely. If I see anything funny in her behavior we will have a heart to heart.
No more baths with her sister and she has been content to stay in her room for pleasure (I explained that I understood that she likes it but it is a private thing and you only do that in your room by yourself).

OH no!! lol

Thanks for the comment on my site.

That is a very scary story!! lol I have yet to encounter anything like that with my kids, and hopefully I don't! lol But as Bossy said, I think it is completely normal. Unless of course the cousin is much much older then your daughter or something like that. My husband just freaks out when the boys play with themselves, let alone if something like that happened. lol He keeps telling themselves they are going to hur themselves!! lol
